Former Kisumu County Woman Representative aspirant Valentine Anyango is wailing her heart out.

Anyango, commonly known as A Gal Toto is mad at social media users for mocking and insulting her after she failed to clinch the seat.

This new bunch of followers hurling insults at me left, right and centre (especially young women and young men) mmetoka wapi and who brought you here?’ she posed in a Facebook post.

I have been insulted over 100 times per day for 365 days. Propaganda and Photoshops motivated by envy and jealousy followed my campaigns left, right and centre

“It is not easy running for public office and it’s as well definitely not a walk in the park to come second. We are celebrating our achievements here. Not mourning,” she added.

Toto came second in the race, garnering over 80, 000 votes, running on an MDG ticket.

ODM Leader Raila Odinga’s sister, Ruth Odinga won the seat.

Toto had congratulated the winner, celebrating her achievement, which she termed as ‘no mean achievement’ given the strong current she faced.

At 24, with no cash, no polling agents, no name, and using a fringe party, Toto noted that getting 80, 000 votes was a performance to celebrate.

But with the elections behind her, she has remained active in social media, commenting on the contemporary political happenings in the country.

While I knew it was a long shot to win an election in Luo land against BABA’s own wishes, I proudly won 80,000 plus hearts and led that huge troop to the finish line amid huge pressure to step down,

But the former Miss University of Nairobi has now said enough is enough with the renewed insults against her.

“While I knew it was a long shot to win an election in Luo land against BABA’s own wishes, I proudly won 80,000 plus hearts and led that huge troop to the finish line amid huge pressure to step down,” she noted.

“Just making it to the finish line against unsurmountable challenges is a win to me,” she added.

“County politics is over. Your mocking and insults are misplaced. We can use the energy to help Baba up there. And push those whom you elected to work harder for the people.”

“And to my diehard supporters, you are the best! We have together crafted a brand; we have lemon in our hands. We proudly achieved something,” she said.
