CLAIM
This video posted on x formerly (twitter) on 27th October 2026 by a user named Chuka.P.Washington (@paulochuka77) claims the incident happened in Kenya.
The video is captioned, “This is totally wrong , why strangle someone to death like that for whatever reason in a government office while others are watching
They speak Kalenjin like language from background, that public disorder must be investigated and punished Asap.”
In the video, a man is seen strangling another man on a brown leather couch with other people not trying to help that much as seen in the screen shot below.

BACKGROUND
Kalenjin is a tribe in Kenya found in the Rift valley with a population of 6,358,113. According to the 2019 Kenya National Bureau of Statistics demographic census.
Kalenjin has a total of eleven subtribes with each subtribe having their distinct dialect.
Kalenjins have been at the helm of Kenya’s top leadership with the late president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi being the 2nd president after the late mzee Jomo Kenyatta. Moi ruled for Kenya for 24 years.
The current sitting president, President William Samoei Ruto is a kalenjin from a mix of Nandi and Kipsigis.
Ruto previously served as deputy president for ten years before assuming the office of the Commander- in- Chief of the defence forces in Kenya.
VERIFICATION
But did this incident really take place in kenya and the language spoken really Kalenjin?
A reverse image search shows the same video posted on different social media platforms including Instagram, X(Twitter) and facebook.
The user with the name luboya kashama elie @elie_kashama posted the video on 26th October 2026 with a caption “A minister strangled his chief of staff before the arrival of the Prime Minister in Kindu in Maniema.”
See the screengrab below.

Additionally, a facebook post was also made on the same video by a user named Balabala243 with a caption “Unusual, Kindu: A cabinet director estranged by a minister before the arrival of the prime minister.”

From the two posts, something is common.” Kindu”
A search on where Kindu is shows Kindu is an airport located in Kindu the capital of the Maniema province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
A further reverse image search on the flag seen in the video indicates that the flag is for the Democratic Republic Of Congo.
VERDICT
From the verification results, it is evident that the incident happened in Kindu airport in Democratic Republic of Congo and not in one of the offices here in Kenya. It is also evident that the language spoken in the video is not Kalenjin even though the audio is not clear.
The claim therefore is FALSE.
