Nairobi Governor-elect Johnson Sakaja now wants IEBC should have an electronic transmission of polls in the next polls.

According to Sakaja, politicians spend a lot of money in the exercise hence a heavy financial burden for the candidates.

The UDA candidate now says he spent Sh.15 million to pay his 3,643 agents during the August 9th elections.

I had 3643 agents for 3 days of work the rest ilikua kujitolea

“We need to have an electronic transmission for our polls. I have just finished sorting out my agents. It cost me Ksh.15 million,” he said.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen Tv, Sakaja however said that he could only afford to pay the agents for three days and his supporters provided free services for the extra days.

“I had 3643 agents for 3 days of work the rest ilikua kujitolea,” said Sakaja.

The incoming governor said he further incurred an additional cost to pay 396 polling centre managers as well as mobilizers.

Sakaja garnered 699,392 votes to thrashing Jubilee’s Polycarp Igathe who got 573,516 votes.
