Raila long time friend to defend Ruto at Supreme Court

Makueni Governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana has joined the team of lawyers who will defend Deputy President William Ruto ‘s win at the Supreme Court.

Prof Kibwana is a long time friend of Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
Kibwana who completed his two terms as Makueni Governor vouched for Raila’s election ahead of the August 9, elections.

He is among the leaders whose names appear as having been in the frontline in the fight for the second liberation, together with Raila, Martha Karua, among others.

But Ruto on Tuesday announced that Kibwana had joined his Kenya Kwanza team.

He said Kibwana would also be part of the legal team to defend his win against a case filed by Raila at the Supreme Court.

“We associate with the leadership that Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has manifested in agreeing to work with us in furthering our country’s development agenda. The Makueni Governor will join the Kenya Kwanza legal team in the ongoing presidential election petition,” Ruto wrote in his social media pages.

“At the Karen Residence, welcomed Governor Kibwana to Kenya Kwanza accompanied by other leaders,” the post went on, accompanied by pictures of Ruto, Kibwana and other leaders said to have been in Kibwana’s entourage.
