The much-anticipated Luo festival event scheduled for Saturday, December 11, at the Tom Mboya Labour College has been postponed.

In a letter from the organisers of the event dubbed ‘Kisumu Edition” said they have rescheduled the event in what they said was out of unavoidable circumstances.

“To all our fans, it is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of The Luo Festival Kisumu Edition. We will give a much-detailed statement at a later date,” read the statement in part.

The purchase of tickets was very low

Preparation

Speaking to Lake Region Bulletin a source revealed that the organisers were not well prepared and had recorded low purchase of tickets.

“The purchase of tickets was very low,” he said.

The source further revealed that the event had not been well advertised and had not received the hype as it has always had.

“We did not have much hype for this event I think that is what they are going to look into and reschedule the event,” he furthered.

I have stopped purchasing tickets for events in Kisumu

Rage

Several fans took to social media to vent their frustrations and lamented about the incurred losses and last-minute cancellation of Kisumu events.

On Saturday Tanzania’s bongo sensation Ray Vanny’s event at Black Pearl Lounge was cancelled just a day before the performance.

The organizers claimed that the artist did not have all the documents to allow him jet into the country for the event.

“I have stopped purchasing tickets for events in Kisumu,” said @Ochi

“Kisumu events heri ulipie kwa gate ukiingia na umeconfirm artist ako stage,” wrote another user on social media.

All eyes are now set to see the next communication from the organizers.
