Former Sol generation member Crystal Asige has sued Sauti Sol band over breach of contract.

The ODM nominated Senator now wants the court to compel the band to pay her from what they have earned in four hit songs she was featured in.

The songs include Extravaganza, Lenga, Intro, Favorite song and Ukiwa mbali which were produced in 2019.

“The plaintiff co-composed and performed in Extravaganza and Ukiwa Mbali together with the performing in the background vocals for Bensoul’s song Favorite song,” she claimed.

The plaintiff communicated her reservations on the mentioned agreement with the first defendant and requested to discuss and negotiate the particulars but they never met for negotiations

The case included the band members Bien Baraza, Polycarp Otieno, Willis Chimano and Delvin Mudigi as the defendants.

Asige further alleges that they had an agreement of having the copy rights for co-producing and writing songs for the group but lost all her rights after the fallout.

“The plaintiff communicated her reservations on the mentioned agreement with the first defendant and requested to discuss and negotiate the particulars but they never met for negotiations,” furthered Asige.

Asige left the group in 2020 and was nominated for the senate seat by Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) after the August polls.
