Keith Nimrod scored 429 marks in the just released KCPE exams to emerge the best student in Nyanza and third best in the country.
Nimrod of Golden Elites School in Kisumu came third nationally after Lewis Otieno Omondi and Fwaro Makokha Robinson who scored 431 marks.
The 12-year-old hopes to join Alliance Boys High School and aspires to be a Neurosurgeon.

“I did not expect to be the best but my dream is to be a neurosurgeon,” he said.
The secrets
Alex revealed that he often read late into the night.
Teachers said he was always among the top students in his class.
His mother Solrei Akinyi was not surprised by her son’s good performance.
“My child has been a disciplined, hardworking student,” she said.
The school’s assistant Director Joan Ochome and the teachers could not hide their joy after receiving the results.
“We are happy that the students have performed well in the KCPE examination. This is a reflection of his hard work, determination and discipline,” said Polo.
Carl Baraka of Xaverian Primary School was the second-best student in Kisumu with 423 marks.
Just like Nimrod the 14-year-old aspires to be a Neurosurgeon.
“I am very happy with the results and I am expecting to join Alliance High School,” said Baraka.

Both students attributed their success to hard work and determination.
His Headteacher George Polo said the student had consistently demonstrated his abilities at the school.
“The students were dedicated and have managed to make us proud despite the tight calendar that we had,” said Polo.
John Ngale of the same school told Lake Region Bulletin that they had been well motivated by the teachers to achieve the high results at their institution.
“We were taught well and managed to finish the syllabus in good time,” said Ngale who scored 420.
Nigel Ciqala of Hekima School who scored 421 attributed his success to dedication.

Dreams
He wishes to become a successful businessman.
“My dream was to get at least 400 marks so as to guarantee me a chance at Kapsabet High School,” he said.
The school also produced one of the best girls in the lake side city.
Syprose Omawa scored 405 marks and would wish to be a professional cook.
“I would want to actualize my passion in that line, so I would be glad to pursue a career that would lead me there,” she said.
She said although she expected to perform well, she did not know she would be the best at her school.
Jedrian Curtis who scored 415 at the same school and wants to join Kapsabet Boys’ School also said putting God first made him succeed.
