Defense CS nominee Aden Duale has pledged to deal with brokers who have infiltrated recruitment of Kenya Defense Force officers.

Duale assured of fair and equitable recruitment when he gets to the office.

“Kenya Defense Force recruitment should be a fair and equitable procedure to all eligible for the position,” he stated.

While facing the vetting panel at parliament, he said that he will look into the brokers who engage in making the process a business.

We will deal with the KDF soldiers who engage in corrupt dealings during recruiting process

The panel noted that many Kenyans have been duped to part with millions of shillings in order to get a spot in the force.

“We will deal with the KDF soldiers who engage in corrupt dealings during recruiting process,” said Duale.

Duale was also put to task on how he will deal with the certain criteria used to determine eligibility to join the force.

Some of the requirements include scars, height and color of teeth and if this is important to cut off well able youths.

“Recruitment is an elephant in the room that needs to be worked on,” he said.

He says that Kenya Defense Force has to use the criteria of physical fitness due to the tough training that it entails and the need for only the best.

“We need to have a fair distribution of members in terms of gender, age and region at hand,”
