KAM appoints former Tullow oil director Anthony Mwangi as CEO

Former Tullow oil director Anthony Mwangi is the new Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) Chief Executive Officer.

The master’s degree in Public Policy and Management graduate from Strathmore Business School will take over from Acting CEO Tobias Alando who took over in July after Phyllis Wakiaga’s exit.

Mwangi has also been the CEO of Bolt, Tullow Oil, IBM, and Kenya Airways.

Mwangi’s Commitment

In his statement Mwangi said he is committed to championing the organization’s needs and will create enabling business environment.

“I’m excited to take up the new role, I shall work closely with all stake holders to increase the efficiency and productivity of the local manufacturing sector, drive export led growth, reduce the regulatory burden and ease the cost of doing business,” he said.

KAM Chairman, Rajan Shah said Mwangi was appointment after rigorous recruitment process and he brings on board a wealth of expertise having been the CEO of Bolt, Tullow Oil, IBM, and Kenya Airways.

The association said this will aid them in public policy, government relations, stakeholder engagement, communications and business development.
