The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has dismissed claims that there are two ghost polling stations in Homa Bay.

The response follows claims that Got Rateng and Kogonda polling stations in Kabondo East and Kabondo West respectively are not gazzetted.

We have no plans to rig anyone in the August poll

Fredrick Apopa

County Returning Officer Fredrick Apopa said the commission was focused on providing a fair platform to all candidates.

“We have no plans to rig anyone in the August poll,” he said.

He said the county has 1,228 polling stations gazzetted by the commission.

Apopa said the two said stations are gazzetted, with Got Rateng having 286 registered voters while Kogonda has 95.

He challenged individuals with rigging claims to present evidence to the commission for investigations.
