We see him more on TV than at home, Mary Chebukati opens up

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman, Wafula Chebukati’s wife, Mary Chebukati has opened up on hoe her husband’s work has kept him away from the family.

Mary said that they see Chebukati more on TV than they interact with him at home.

“Most times we see him on TV even more than we see him physically because of his work but I’m thankful he is here today,” she said.

She was speaking during a funeral service on Saturday.

Mary’s plea

While appealing to Kenyans to pray for her husband and family ahead of the polls, she said that the family was deeply affected by the 2017 general elections but they are now strong.

“Our children were deeply affected by the last election exercise but now they are strong, and so is Chebukati,” she said.

“We always pray for God’s wisdom to guide him as he serves the nation,” she furthered.

Chebukati has assured Kenyans of a credible elections amid claims by some politicians that the elections will be rigged.

With only three weeks to the polls the commission is still under pressure to conduct a free and fair elections.
