A petition filed against Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Polycarp Igathe has been dismissed.

The IEBC’s Dispute Resolution Committee on Wednesday 15th June dismissed the complaint filed by George Bush for lack of merit and evidence.

“The committee abides that there is no evidence or material placed before it to fault the decision of the CRO regarding the registration of the interested party,” read the ruling.

It went ahead to state, “And the committee hereof upholds the CRO’s decision with respect to the complaint in this matter.”

The Case

Bush had told the committee that Igathe was unfit to run for the gubernatorial seat because he abdicated his duties when he was serving as Nairobi Deputy Governor.

Igathe will run for the Nairobi County top seat on a Jubilee Party ticket alongside Wiper Party’s Philip Kaloki as his running mate.

His competitor Johnson Sakaja’s fate is still in limbo after the Commission for University Education (CUE) revoked his degree.
