Kazi Kwa Vijana program in Bungoma County has temporarily been halted.
This is to allow for the cleaning of the register of beneficiaries.
According to County Commissioner Samuel Kimiti the halting of the program was informed by detection of some anomaly in the register.
But be assured you still have your jobs but there is some streamlining being undertaken. Some of your colleagues have joined college yet they are still in the database yet their names need to be updated
County Commissioner Samuel Kimiti
This has seen names of people who are nolonger in the program having their names in the register.
He said an audit of the list of beneficiaries is ongoing to sort the anomaly.
Remain calm
Speaking to youth groups outside his office on Thursday, Kimiti urged the youths to remain calm and patient as they await communications from the national government.
“A program as massive as Kazi Kwa Vijana is bound to experience challenges,” he explained.

“But be assured you still have your jobs but there is some streamlining being undertaken. Some of your colleagues have joined college yet they are still in the database yet their names need to be updated,” he added.
He assured the youths of the program’s continuity in the coming weeks.
The audit
Kimiti now insists each member will be recalled at an individual level upon confirmation of their availability and their application status.
“Each one of you will receive an SMS inviting you to come and register with the Deputy County Commissioner,” he explained.
Hundreds of youths held a peaceful march to the County Commissioner’s office seeking information and clarity on the status of the program.
This was after they received communication stopping the program a week ago until further notice.
