System failure interrupts IEBC aspirants verification in Bungoma

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has rolled out the official aspirants’ details verification process countrywide.

A spot-check by Lake Region Bulletin in Bungoma County revealed the insights of the process in different constituencies.

In Bumula Constituency, the aspirants’ verification process stalled for the better part of the day due system failure.

Bifwoli Wakoli and Bonface Washiula who are both contesting as independent candidates long waiting hours was witnessed in the better part of the day.

“We got to the office at around noon but close to six hours later, we haven’t been able to be cleared due to system challenges,” said Ashiula.

Peaceful Election

In Kanduyi Constituency, MP aspirants Rodgers Siboe of the Federal Party of Kenya and his Ford Kenya counterpart John Makali presented their documents to the electoral body.

According to Siboe, the process went on smoothly many of the briefings were majorly on conduct and expectations during the campaigning period.

“We were urged to prioritize peace and pursue campaign session harmonization,” he said.

Kenya Kwanza co-principal and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula was also cleared to defend the senatorial position.

Various aspirants will be presenting their papers to IEBC offices for better part of the week.
