Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch has ditched the DAP-K party to join Movement for Democracy Growth (MDG) party.

Speaking while receiving the party ticket in Nairobi, the legislator claimed that DAP-K was a trap to block him from contesting in the August polls.

Two months ago the legislator left the Ford Kenya party for Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) to contest for the fourth term.

I realized the party I joined was just a trap. In the 13th Parliament, Kisumu West will be represented by MDG,” said Olago.

Olago however says that he realized the plan to stop him from retaining his seat and made the decision to resign from Wafula Wamunyinyi led party.

“I realized the party I joined was just a trap. In the 13th Parliament, Kisumu West will be represented by MDG,” said Olago.

The legislator further noted that he relies on his close relationship with the voters and is confident of winning the seat.

Olago will be facing ODM flag bearer and Kisumu Women Representative Rosa Buyu in the August polls.

Other aspirants who joined the MDG party include former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma who is seeking to un seat Governor Nyong’o to reclaim the seat he lost in 2017 general election.
