Assembly approves Governor Nyong’o’s Road CEC nominee

Kisumu County Assembly on Wednesday approved the appointment of Farida Salim as Roads County Executive Committee Member.

Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o had three weeks ago presented Farida’s name for the job following the resignation of Dr Joyce Osogo who is eying Homa Bay Woman Representative position in the forthcoming polls.

In a communication by the assembly, Farida, a former nominated Member of County Assembly was found to be fit for the job.

Vetting Committee

“A report on the vetting of the nominee by the Committee on Appointment chaired by the Speaker Hon.Elisha Oraro – giving her a clean bill of health – was adopted by the House this afternoon,” read the statement in part.

It went on: “She appeared before the Committee on Appointment on Tuesday last week for vetting- where she detailed her plans for the critical docket. Congratulations on this milestone!

Farida is also serving as a member of the City Management Board.

“Thank you His Excellency the Governor of the Great County of Kisumu Prof Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o. Thank you Kisumu County Assembly. May Allah bless you all abundantly. We join hands to serve our people. Mbele pamoja,” noted Farida following the assembly announcement.
