Veteran journalist Joe Ageyo has been unveiled as the Editorial Director-Broadcasting at NTV.

Ageyo’s appointment comes barely a week after he quit Royal Media Services’ Citizen TV.

In an appointment notice signed by Nation Media Group Chief Executive Officer Stephen Gitagama, Ageyo is expected to report to his new assignment starting April 1.

“As Editorial Director-Broadcasting, he will be an integral part of the leadership team and will participate in the development and the execution of the Group’s editorial strategy,” read the letter in part.

It went on: “Joe will be in charge of the editorial functions of NMG’s broadcast operations in Kenya across multimedia platforms.”

He will report to the Editor in Chief and the Executive Director, Transformation.

Joe is getting back home, having previously worked at NTV as Head of News Production.

He holds an MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Manchester, Post-graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the School of Journalism, University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Agribusiness Management from Egerton University.
