Andreas Spier is Gor Mahia’s new coach

Gor Mahia have appointed Andreas Spier from Germany as their new head coach for the next six month.

Spier is known for his success when he coached Rwandese league veterans APR, winning the league in 2013 and 2014. He replaces Mark Harrison who was fired by the club.

Michael Nam was also appointed as the assistant head coach to replace Sammy Omollo.

The clubs chairman Ambrose Rachier said that the contracts are interim and could be extended depending on the performance of the coach.

“We have appointed Andreas Spier from Germany as our new head coach, He will be assisted by Michael Nam and the two are on six months interim basis with an option of signing a longer contract depending on performance,” said Rachier.

Spier holds a UEFA pro license and while Nam comes with the experience of the local league having worked with Agro-Chemicals, Homegrown and Talanta.

The two now tasked with reviving the club’s glory.
