Migori Governor Dr Ochilo Ayacko has bashed out those asking the opposition to join the government.

Ochilo told-off political leaders who he said had not found positions in the government but are constantly asking others to join them.

“Get jobs for yourselves before calling us to join the government of which you are not part,” said Ochillo.

Defectors

The Governor was speaking in response to leaders who have defected to support the Kenya Kwanza government.

During relief food donation in Migori, leaders allied to the Kenya kwanza government castigated the opposition saying that they were unable to deliver.

The defectors led by former Migori Governor Okoth Obado firmly lashed out at the ODM party leader for challenging the government.

This did not settle well with Governor Ochillo who said that they were being lured to join the government in order to be given relief food.

“Some sacks of maize should not be used to lure us to join the government. Where are the vacancies you want us to join?” he said.

New chief officers

The Governor was speaking during the swearing in of County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and county chief officers.

A total of 15 chief officers also assumed their new roles in the county government.

concurrently Ochillo challenged the newly appointed officers to coordinate with other public servants from the national government.

This will ensure better service delivery to the residents of Migori county, which is their number one priority to serve.
