Kisumu trade guns on illegal car wash points in town clean up

Kisumu County Government has initiated an intensive greening of Kisumu City.

The project aims at making the city habitable, ecofriendly, as well as improving service deliver.

And barely a week after warning churches and joints against noise pollution, the City Management is now targeting car wash points.

All car wash sheds should be in enclosed areas and have all the requisite approvals from the city management and KIWASCO

In a notice signed by City Manager Abala Wanga, the car wash operators have been accused of causing destruction of roads and obstruction of walkways.

Some of the affected roads include;Busia road, Kisumu -Kakamega road, Nyerere road, Ondiek Highway and other part of Central Business District.

Mr Wanga directed illegal car wash points to be closed,and the operators move to designated areas.

”All car wash sheds should be in enclosed areas and have all the requisite approvals from the city management and KIWASCO,” He said.
