Dr Raymond Omollo to be Ruto’s most powerful PS

Dr Raymond Omollo, Managing Director at Lake Basin Development Authority, is set to be President William Ruto’s most powerful Principal Secretary.

Dr Omollo was nominated to the powerful Interior PS position in Kenya Kwanza Government.

Dr Omollo who has been an ardent supporter of President Ruto, will serve as a PS in the Department of Interior and National Administration if his appointment is approved by the National Assembly.

Hailing from Homa Bay County, Omollo has played a great role in organizing and engaging in Kenya Kwanza campaigns in Nyanza region.

In his acceptance speech, Omollo thanked the President for the opportunity, promising to serve in the critical portfolio touching on security.

His tweet reads: “Thank you Mr President for the honour and trust. Am humbled.”

The new PS will be working hand in hand with Kithure Kindiki, who serves in the same ministry as the Cabinet Secretary(CS).

Education Background

Raymond holds a PhD in Applied Statistics from the University Of Nairobi.

At the time of his nomination to the PS position, Omollo was been the Managing Director at the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA) since 2019.

Dr Omollo together with the team will work to oversee the internal security of the country among many other roles in the docket.

Dr. Raymond Omollo, a Luo, bags the title many years later after the appointment of Hezekiah Oyugi by the second President Daniel Moi.
