Kenyans thronged social media to react to claims by Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Johnson Sakaja who now says he did not finish his degree due to lack of fees.
During an interview with Spice Fm, Sakaja said he could not afford fees to fully pay his actuarial science degree at UON.
“I had to put them on hold, but when I got a way to pay, I was too embarrassed to go back to class,” said Sakaja.
Kenyans have since blasted the Nairobi Senator while recounting what he had said in previous interviews.
I had businesses that earned me Sh6,000 and this car then was not expensive I was able to get it

“Sakaja lacked school fees but managed to buy a Benz in 2nd year, woow,” wrote @RodgersKipembe.
“Someone who was driving a Mercedes Benz while in campus lacked school fees but could afford to start another degree in another country?” wrote Derrick on Facebook.

In an Interview on Churchill Show in June last year, Sakaja said he had acquired a Mercedes benz worth Sh500,000 when he was a fourth year student.
He further said he had a salon, barber and laundry business that earned him Sh6,000 daily.
“In campus I had to pay fees because my parents were not well off,” said Sakaja.
He went ahead to state, “I had businesses that earned me Sh6,000 and this car then was not expensive I was able to get it.”

Kenyans continued to post videos of the aspiring Governor while making fun of him.
A tweet by Felix Njika read, “…He had money to buy a Benz but paying fees is where he drew the line,”
According to @sakwabrian tweet, Sakaja sabotaged his own shot at the gubernatorial race when he failed to present a legitimate proof of his undergraduate studies.
“Everyone else has done it. His case shouldn’t be any special but it is knowing the circumstances he put himself in now,” he tweeted.
Commission for University Education (CUE) revoked Sakaja’s degree from Team University for the second time on Thursday 30th June.
