Why Kenyans want government to set up kidney market

Kenyatta National Hospital(KNH) recently revealed that there has been endless request of kidney trade from Kenyans.

Millions of Kenyans have willingly offered to sell their kidneys in exchange of cash to sustain their livelihood.

According to the hospital, there has been a surge in the number queries on the price of kidney on their social media handles.

Various individuals have made calls to enquire the price of the body organ.

The Law

“How much does it cost to sell my kidney? Is the most in boxed question,” KNH revealed.

Please note that the sale of kidney is illegal and it can only be donated freely

According to the law selling of body organs is prohibited.

The parts can only be donated at a free will.

“Please note that the sale of kidney is illegal and it can only be donated freely,” read the statement from the hospital.

Cost of living

In response to the statement various Kenyans thronged online saying that the high cost of living is unbearable and they are looking for ways to earn money.

Selling Kidney has topped the list since it is the most wanted organ.

“Earth is hard. Cost of living has skyrocketed. Prices of basic items have gone through the roof,” wrote @george_randu on twitter.

“Am not getting it. You say sale of kidney is illegal then continue saying one can DONATE out of free will…… Ni pesa tunataka naniiiiii,” wrote another user on twitter.

“Hehehehehe!!!!A whole Kidney out of free will?” said @Pricytess.

Kenyans now say they need the government to set up kidney market.

Kidney remains one of the organ that is on demand because it does not put the donor at many risks.

The sale of illegal organs worldwide has gained momentum in various countries making organ trafficking become a lucrative business. While it being illegal in many countries, the demand for the organs is still high.
