It is now official that former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma will face incumbent Anyang’ Nyong’o among other candidates in the August 9, polls.
Ranguma was on Monday June, 06th, cleared by IEBC after fulfilling the electoral requirements.
Accompanied by Senator Fred Outa, former County Assembly Speaker Onyango Oloo, Ranguma declared battle against Nyong’o.

He accused Nyong’o of using his five-year term spreading propaganda at the expense of the needs of the residents.
“When I left the economy of Kisumu was booming beyond Kissi, but as of today Kissi has surpassed Kisumu in terms of economics,” he said.
Ranguma will be contesting on Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) party ticket.
The ex-Governor said his back to finish the projects he started during his term.
“We have aligned ourselves as party and we will complete all the projects we started because they were initiated by the people,” said Ranguma.
Corruption
Ranguma further pledged to wage war on corruption and bring back lost assets.
“The failure to pay contractors is one such corruption that we must deal with,” said Ranguma.
He furthered, “Assets of Kisumu are at crossroads there are people who have bent to take this asset but I want to assure you that under my government that will not happen.”
Among other candidates seeking the county’s top seat include Meso Berryl who contesting on an independent ticket.
