I’m Adhiambo, for the sake of August polls, Governor Obado’s wife declares

Migori county First Lady Hellen Obado has been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to run for the county’s Woman Representative position.

Hellen will be seeking the seat on an independent ticket.

However, the governor’s wife now says she will not use her husbands name in the ballot.

“On the ballot paper,I will use Hellen Adhiambo Odie as my official name,” she said.

She further said that she will be supporting Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga in the August polls as opposed to her husband Governor Okoth Obado who supports DP Ruto.

“Mr Odinga is vying for president while I’m seeking the woman representative seat, but he has my vote,” said Hellen.

Hellen went ahead to state that she will be steering her campaigns as an individual.

Governor Obado who is serving his last term is the Kenya Kwanza’s campaign leader in the larger Nyanza region.

The Governor is also seeking to run for the county’s senatorial seat has however been red carded by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) as over his integrity issues.
