Arguably world’s best English soccer commentator Peter Drury has quit the job.
Drury will replace Arlo White at the NBC Sports, an American programming division of the broadcast network NBC.
The National Broadcasting Company, is an American English -language commercial broadcast television and radio network, that has established itself in covering the premier league broadcast, for the Premier League fans in the United States.

The NBC has now signed a new six year deal to broadcast the premier league in the United States till 2028, for a rights fee of 2.7 billion dollars.
With Arlo White set to decamp the NBC commentating crew, the American broadcasting company seems to have found his best replacement Drury.

White, a Leicester born English commentator, has been synonymous with NBC’s coverage of English’s top soccer league since they first acquired the rights in 2013.
White came under fire at the NBC in October 2021, in the wake of Newcastle United takeover for not alluding to the controversy surrounding the Saudi Arabian involvement, and doubled down on Twitter in potentially unprofessional way.
With White set for the MLS return as his contract with the NBC expired at the end of the 2021/22 season, NBC has not given any comment about this major move.

Peter Drury, who is now set to bid the premier league goodbye, emotional reactions from English football lovers has flooded the social media as the popular English commentator is set to join the NBC.
“Unfortunately the end of my world feed commentary duties on Premier league productions and as such there will be no updates starting next season for the rest of the world,” Drury posted in his social media handles.

Drury and White have different approaches of commentary, and football lovers in the United States won’t take long until they notice the difference between the two.

Drury has a catalog of memorable calls that football fans know him for, when commentating over big football matches, especially alongside Jim Beglin.
The 54 year old English commentator began commentating the premier league in 1998, and has pulled epic moments of finesse broadcasting.
Drury has a track record of reading the moment based on emotions z and if he carries his same tone, it could result in NBC’s broadcast gaining greater international prominence on the back of his voice.
The iconic English commentator is expected to begin his career at the NBC when the new premier league season kicks off on August 6, 2022.
