Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has declared two days of National Mourning in Tanzania.

The declaration follows the death of Kenya’s third President Mwai Kibaki.

In a press release, Tanzania is set for National mourning from April 29, to April 30, 2022.

During this time, the Tanzanian flag shall be raised at half-mast across the entire country.

The same is expected at Tanzania’s diplomatic missions abroad.

President Samia urged Tanzanians to join in solidarity with their Kenyan neighbours as they grieve the loss of their former leader.

She sent her message of fearful condolences to the people of Kenya.
