Bongo music star Diamond Platinumz and his estranged wife Zari Hassan are set to feature in the new Netflix reality TV show.

Diamond whose real name is Naseeb Abdul Juma was featured in a trailer launched by Netflix’s newly anticipated series on February 14, 2022 and it is set to premier on March 18.

The unscripted show will be based in South Africa, where Zari is based, bringing viewers a top notch entertainment through a wider prospect from their favorite African personalities, showing the intimate look of their personal lives and the lavish lifestyle.

Diamond shared the news with his 14 million followers on Instagram, writing; “Another one for the culture! From Tandale to the world… go behind the scenes of what it takes to be an African icon to the world. First African reality tv show, featuring your one and only SIMBA! You don’t want to miss this.”

“Born in Uganda, flourishing in Mzansi. Now we’re taking over Netflix! See me bossing it up on the first ever African reality show,” wrote Zari.

The show will be produced by Urban Studios with Martin Asare Amankwa and Peace Hyde as co-creators and executive producers.

‘Young, Famous and African’ is a depiction of a world that has never been seen before, highlighting authentic stories and unrivaled access to some of the most celebrated celebrities.

“This has been a labour of love that has finally become a reality. Growing up in the UK, there were no glitzy and sexy images of Africa. All we saw were the stereotypical images that has been propelled in the media for years,” said Amankwa.

The reality tv show is set to feature Diamond Platinumz, Khanyi Mbau, Annie Macaulay, 2Baba, Zari the boss lady, Naked DJ, Nadia Nakai, Swanky Jerry, Andile Ncube and Kayleigh Schwark.
