East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Florence Jematia has been arrested in Nairobi’s West Park Estate following the controversial remarks she made over the weekend in Baringo.
Jematia was apprehended on Wednesday and taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters for questioning.
This comes just a day after Baringo County Commissioner Abdrisak Jeldesa asked her to surrender and record a statement over the alleged incitement.
The EALA MP allegedly asked the residents of Mochogoi in Baringo South Constituency to raise funds to buy firearms and protect themselves against armed bandits.
She also accused the government of laxity in dealing with insecurity in the region while drumming support for the hustler movement in the area.
Her comments came following increased cases of bandit attacks targeting area residents.
