Nyong’o upbeat of Raila presidency in 2022 new year message

Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o has expressed confidence in Raila Odinga’s presidency in the 2022 general election.

In his new year message to Kisumu residents, Nyong’o asked the area’s eligible voters to get registered as voters in a bid to actualize this dream.

“This is a very important year for all of us. It is the Azimio year where great changes will take place in our nation under the leadership of Raila Amollo Odinga and the Azimio la Umoja,” Nyong’o stated in part in his new year message.

He added: “Please ensure you are registered as a voter and you vote in 2022 for Azimio.”

The Governor however avoided speaking about the other elective positions despite his allies indicating that he will be defending his seat in the forthcoming elections.

He went ahead to rally area residents and leaders to continue embracing unity to ensure the good work in the county is not disrupted.

Governor Nyong’o’s New Year Message

Nyong’os message come amid high hopes that Raila may clinch the presidency following his growing support in central Kenya which has been his biggest headache since his first attempt to capture the country’s top seat in 2007.

The governor has hosted two street bashes; during the Christmas and New Year eves in what his government termed as giving opportunity to the area traders to recover from the impacts of Covid-19.

The events saw motorists barred from accessing two main streets; Oginga Odinga and Jomo Kenyatta which hosted the parties.

“I would like to thank all the people of Kisumu County, together with our leaders at various levels in society and government, for the good work we have all done to make Kisumu County a great place to live in. I am therefore taking this opportunity to sincerely thank you and wish you a really happy 2022,” said Nyong’o.
