At least 200 households in Kimaeti, Bumula Sub County are set to benefit from a water project initiated by Bungoma County Government.

County Executive Member for Water Renson Makheti and Chief Officer for Roads Maurice Marango on Wednesday launched the Siloba Water Project expected to produce 3, 000 liters of water per hour.

The borehole will also serve the nearby Siloba Shines Primary School.

“In the long run, we will equip the project with a solar hybrid pumping system, a community water point accessible to all, a systematic water distribution service, and a water kiosk,” said Makheti.

The the project entailed the drilling of water well and installation of water tanks.

“This project is part of a series of projects that we have undertaken since 2017,” added Makheti.

He noted that the county government has drilled about 120 boreholes in various sub-counties since 2017 and promised the dedication of his office towards ensuring residents, especially from the rural areas of the county, had access to clean water.

On his part, Marango said the structural works on the project were of high standards and it is expected to serve the residents on a long term.
