Kenyan Correspondents Association (KCA) Nyanza region journalists finally held their elections on Monday in Kisumu, selecting new leadership to steer their association.
The polls produced stark leadership as new faces swept to office that will now be led by Kevine Omollo who scooped the Chairman seat unopposed.
Nyanza election comes after the Coast Region which is now lead Omar Abdalla saw Monica Zabibu take position of vice-chairperson.

Sarah Otiende is the new Treasurer while Stephen Maranga is now the Nyanza Region Secretary.
The hotly contested Deputy Secretary seat saw Austine Ogalo floor Cheisantus Oanga who gannered five votes after the physical and online polls were summed.
Male and Female Committee members posts were scooped by David Bondo and Josphene Wareta respectively who were also elected unopposed.

In his acceptance speech, Omollo congratulated all the members who won promising to lead the leadership to better KCA.
“I want to thank each and everyone who voted and I’m so happy to be elected as the chairman. I’m promising inclusivity to all journalists across the region.’’
The election was presided over by the members from the KCA Secretariat led by the KCA national Chairman Oloo Janak.
While ushering in the new office the Board expressed their confidence in the new team noting the importance of working together.
“I want to thank all the new elected members. It’s a young and bold team which I don’t have doubt that they will perform,” he said.
“I will work hand in hand with the new office for the betterment of the Association,” furthered Janak.
