Kisii County kicked off the day two of the ninth edition of the annual Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA) Games in Kisumu with a bang!

Overall KICOSA defending champions Nairobi beat Bungoma 27-16 in basketball to kick off their basketball title defence.
Kimberly Olanga scored eight points in the first quarter to put Nairobi ahead as Sheila Simiyu dropped 6 points in the last two quarters to seal the win at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Sportsground.
Speaking after the win, Nairobi captain Phylis Nanzala said they were on the move to defend their title hoping to win all their matches.
“We are the defending champions, the pressure is not on us but our opponents because we are used to winning,” said Nanzala.
Highest points
Hosts Kisumu showed their prowess taking home the highest points of the day.
They beat Kericho 52-4 in the matched that seemed easy on their end.
In other matches Vihiga beat Kiambu 17-16 as Uasin Gishu thrashed Embu 40-6.
In Tug of War, Kisumu Ladies humbled Nyeri County 3-0 as Meru lost 3-0 to Kisii County.
