Government extends huduma centre working hours to 7.00 pm

The four-hour working extension will be deployed in all the 18 Huduma Centres across the country.

Public Services CS Aisha Jumwa said the move was aimed at advancing public service delivery and transformation.

Through the Huduma Kenya service delivery program, CS Jumwa had promised to extend huduma Centres working hours as a way of enhancing access to the services.

This intervention will commence on 5th December 2022 and the select Centres will operate from 7.00am to 7.00pm

The select huduma Centres will include Nairobi GPO, City Square, Makadara, Eastleigh, Kibra, Kiambu-Thika, Nakuru, Eldorer, Embu, Nyeri, Meru, Laikipia, Kisii, Kitale, Kericho, Kakamega, Kisumu, Mombasa.

Traffic

Following a report from customer service traffic analysis conducted by Huduma Kenya, the extension will cover the most sought-after services.

This will assist citizens via call on enquiries, booking of appointments and general public service information

“The following services will be operational during the extended hours, police abstracts, duplicate national identity cards, birth and death certificates and certificate of good conduct,” it reads.

Services of NHIF, KRA, NSSF, HELB, NTSA and all online government services through Cyber Cafe will also be available.

Huduma contact Centres has also extended it’s working hours to operate from 8.00am to 9.00pm.

“This will assist citizens via call on enquiries, booking of appointments and general public service information.”

The extension will therefore serve at least 2000 customers daily from the previous 1000.
