The strategy

Speaking to the press during the launch of the primary healthcare strategy in Kisumu Shitawisha DADA (STADA) Executive Director Patricia Orao who is a partner in the PHC development strategy said that healthcare is not only about the hospital delivery.

She said the strategy seeks to ensure that every person at the family level takes control of their lives to avoid spending too much at the curative stage.

“Nobody will come to you to open your windows, wash your hands and have your children vaccinated,” she said.

Patricia urged families to take a good control of their lives to avoid a lot of spending at the curative stage.

While commending the county government she also said the project will also encourage the preventive care in the county.

“The county government of Kisumu has along way to go in order to promote and prioritize primary healthcare,” she said.
