Governor Wanga hires audit agency to eliminate ghost workers

Homa Bay County has hired Price Waterhouse Coopers, an audit and assurance consulting and tax agency to carry out an audit for the county staff.

This is in a move to eliminate ghost workers who receive pay without work.

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga is certain that the the action will help her government achieve a better budget plan.

Wanga said that there was a need to clean up the county’s payroll since 75 percent of the budget were spent in paying salaries and recurrent expenditures.

Clean System

Wanga insisted that to improve the services offered in the county there is need to streamline the loop holes and set a clean system.

She urged the workers to be cooperate with the team and provide all the necessary documents.

She directed the Country Secretary Bernard Muok to work with the audit team and ensure the task is carried out well.

“Your work is cut out , work in tandem with the auditors to ensure Homa Bay has merited human resources,” she said.

Muok agreed to the task at hand and promised to deliver.
