KIBICHO: The national administration is neutral on August 9, polls

Interior CS Dr Karanja Kibicho has refuted claims that the national administration is being coerced to campaign for a given party.

Kibicho maintained that the government will is politically neutral, and concentrates in serving the public.

He was speaking during a meeting with National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO) at Migori Teachers Training College in Migori.

“All we are doing is to ensure that people have enough security during the election period,” said the PS.

He noted that the country had a requirement of about 70,000 police officers to ensure that the August 9, election is conducted in a secure environment.

Election Security

Kibicho said that already enough police officers have been assigned to the IEBC towards the polls.

He assured of cooperation between Security Advisory Committee at the National, Regional and County levels to ensure elections are done peacefully.

“I am pleased that Migori County has adequately prepared well for the forthcoming elections,” he affirmed.
