Deputy President William Ruto on Monday 20th held a meeting with community leaders from Njoro and Molo at Hugo farm in Nakuru.

While in the middle of his speech at the political meeting Ruto noticed the presence of journalists at the meeting.

The Kenya Kwanza flag bearer quickly ordered his security to eject journalists out of the meeting citing that they wanted to discuss private matters.

Why are we having media personnel here? who invited them? Leave so that we can discuss important issues

“Why are we having media personnel here? who invited them? Leave so that we can discuss important issues,” DP ordered.

Journalists were forced to wait for more than three hours hoping they could be further briefed about the meeting.

This is the second time the UDA and Kenya Kwanza alliance are blocking the media from their events one being during the unavailing of Ruto as their presidential candidate at Kasarani.

Minority Groups

Before the directive, Ruto narrated how minority groups in the Rift Valley region suffered the most during the 2007 post-election violence.

“It is the Rift valley people who get political problems. I sat down with Uhuru and we discussed and I told him I was ready,” he said.

He further noted that his party will focus on embracing peace and diversity and ensuring that the country moves forward in unity.

He was accompanied by his running mate Rigathi Gachagua, Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri.
