Presidential aspirant Reuben Kigame has been locked out of the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kigame confirmed on Monday that he received an email from IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati on Sunday that he had failed to meet the requirements.
Kigame said the IEBC chairman wrote him an email in the middle of the night without having a sit-down and hearing him out.

“One of the officials asked me to wait for the chairman in the lobby but was later told he left,” narrated Kigame.
“Strangely, someone from the commission asked me for my email and I gave it to them. I did not know what was coming,” he furthered.
Access Denied
His attempts to meet the Chebukati on Monday were futile as he was denied access to Bomas of Kenya.
“When I wanted to seek audience with the Chair and have a redress of this matter, security barred me from entering the Bomas of Kenya, saying no aspirant was being allowed,” said Kigame.
The gospel musician lamented that the electoral body officials have are now avoiding him.
Besides the signatures, Kigame says he was asked to appear before the commission and table his documents of compliance which did not happen.
“I was pre-judged based on signatures, which they did not receive and are still lying in my car,” he said.
