Uhuru Kenyatta mourns dead UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed

United Arabs Emirates President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is dead.

The Gulf country’s second president death was announced by the states media agency.

“The Ministry of Presidential Affairs condoles the people of the UAE, the Arab and Islamic nation and the world over the demise of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the UAE,” read the statement.

It went ahead to state; “The Ministry of Presidential Affairs also announced that the UAE will observe a forty-day state mourning with the flag flown at half-mast starting today, and suspend work at all ministries, departments, and federal, local and private entities for three days.”

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta joined the world in mourning the late UEA President.

President Kenyatta sent a message of condolence to the Government and the people of the United Arab Emirates.

“On behalf of the Government and the People of Kenya and on my own behalf, I wish to convey our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Government and People of the United Arab Emirates following the death of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” said President Kenyatta.

Visionary leader

Kenyatta eulogized the late UAE President as a visionary leader who transformed the gulf nation into an economic giant.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, the Government and the people of the United Arab Emirates during this difficult time of grieving and loss,” he furthered.

On behalf of the Government and the People of Kenya and on my own behalf, I wish to convey our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Government and People of the United Arab Emirates following the death of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan

The Head of State assured that Kenya stood in solidarity with the Government and the people of the United Arab Emirates and prayed to God to comfort them as they mourn their departed leader.

Other leaders from the region and around the world have offered their condolences include Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

Others were; Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi among others.

The late president died at the age of 73.
