Kisumu Water and Sanitation Company (KIWASCO) has released a programme to supply free water to the residents following the ongoing water shortage in the area.

In a notice to the clients, the water supplier said that they are experiencing water shortage due to the prolonged drought.

The free water supply programme will be done through a water bowser on Tuesday, March 15, at various stations.

“We shall be supplying free water through water bowser at the following locations…”

“Lolwe Migosi near Ghorofa Chafu, Kibos Market and Orongo Junction at 9am, Lower estate next to the booster, Kibos market Chiga and Kadiju area will be at 1pm,” read the notice.

According to KIWASCO Managing Director Thomas Odongo, the current shortage is due to the unpredictable weather patterns that has led to low water levels at River Kibos.

This has affected the production capacity of Kajulu Treatment Plant which suppliers many parts of the county.
