Raila convinced me to ditch UDA, says NYS scandal suspect Anne Ngirita as she joins race for Nakuru Woman Representative seat

Anne Ngirita, the woman who was charged in the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal has joined the race for Nakuru Woman Representative position.

Ms Ngirita on February 15, announced that she will be seeking the position on Jubilee Party ticket after ditching Deputy President’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Ngirita who visited Jubilee’s Nakuru County office said she had joined Ruto’s party out of peer pressure, and that her heart was in Jubilee.

She said the made the decision to join Jubilee following ODM leader Raila Odinga’s remarks which changed her mind.

“I was lost, but now I am back. I left because Baba (Raila) told us to come back home,” said Ngirita.

The mother of two said should she be elected Nakuru County Woman Representative, her focus will be to empower women and youth.

“I am a mother of two, and i am a youth. I understand the challenges facing the youth and women,” she said.

Ms Ngirita came to the limelight following revelations that her family was a beneficiary of the NYS loot, with claims that she was paid over Sh50 million despite not supplying anything to the government entity.
