Nothing less than presidency for Mudavadi, says ANC

Amani National Congress (ANC) parliamentarians insist that party leader Musalia Mudavadi will not take anything less than presidential ticket.

The comments come amid confusion following the merger between ANC and Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ahead of August 9, polls.

The parliamentarians claimed that Ruto’s presence at the ANC National Delegates Conference on January 23, has been misunderstood to mean the party would support Ruto’s presidency.

“Mudavadi remains our party’s presidential candidate and we have presented him to Kenyans and nothing can stop that. Let it be known that as a party we stand with Mudavadi going for nothing less than presidency,” said Emuhaya  MP Omboko Milemba.

The members said that the earthquake was only a blow to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Gedion Moi who were in the One Kenya Alliance but walked out of the meeting and decided not to be part of the coalition.

Both UDA and ANC are have planned joint rallies in different parts of the country in the next few days.
