Atwoli: Not even the most powerful Luhya mganga can make Mudavadi match my achievements

Central Organization of Trade Union (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has responded to attacks targeted at him by Musalia Mudavadi.

The Amani National Congress (ANC) Party leader had on Sunday, January 23, scathingly attacked Atwoli for what Mudavadi termed as failure to liberate Kenya workers.

He accused Atwoli of messing up the workers’ union, and turning it into a show off cow boy club which had no interest of workers at heart.

But in a quick rejoinder, Atwoli has termed Mudavadi as suffering from ‘self-distraction, self-hate, self-inability, and self-immobilization’ after failing to change the circumstances facing him.

“As the Secretary General of Cotu in Kenya, which equally sponsored me to be number one in the larger East African Trade Unions Federation, the organization that equally made me to be elected the Spokesperson for the Organization of the African Trade Union Unity, Pan-African, working with the African Union, a position I don’t think even if Mudavadi visited the most powerful Luhya Mganga, he would not achieve that particular position,” said Atwoli.

Atwoli accused Mudavadi of making the worst blunder in his political life, and that he will not be Kenya’s President.

Atwoli accused Mudavadi of being unable to grow himself politically, and has to rely on other powerful politicians for survival.

Atwoli said Mudavadi’s attacks on ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta were unwarranted, as he has benefited from the duo’s political generousity.

In the 1990s, Atwoli said Mudavadi survived from Moi wave till the year 2002, when he lost his political stature.

“It is Raila who picked Mudavadi from the political cold, and handed him the position of Deputy Prime Minister, on a silver plate,” said Atwoli.
