Lengusuranga joined the army in 1999.

He has served as senior special forces branch commander.

Change of guard

Lengusuranga has succeeded Timothy Lekolool served as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Aide-De-Camp between July 2018 and September 2022.

Brigadier Lekolool has now been deployed to the Department of Defence (DoD) Headquarters in Nairobi.

Lengusuranga’s first assignment was on Tuesday, October 4th as he accompanied the President to Mathira for the burial of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s elder brother Jack Reriani.

President Ruto’s senior communications aide, Emmanuel Tallam, also said the new Aide-De-Camp will be assisted by Lieutenant-Colonel Damaris Agnetta, also from the Kenya Army.

Agnetta takes over from Lieutenant-Colonel Rachel Nduta of the Kenya Air Force, who has been promoted to the rank of Colonel, and deployed to the Department of Defence Headquarters.

The new ADC was commissioned in 2003, and has been serving as the artillery officer.

She has also served in the United Nations Military Observer Mission.
