“I did not think I would be top of the class,” he said.

He said he did a lot of practice to expose him to some of the questions expected at the examination.

The boy from Vihiga County said he faced stiff competition, as he used to battle the top spot with colleague classmates.

“I did not always top the class. From time to time someone would defeat you. But I was always in top ten,” he said.

Jeriel disclosed that he had selected to pursue a course in Medicine at Maseno University.

“I chose Maseno University as my first choice, so I would wish to join Maseno,” he said.

He said he was inspired to choose Medicine due to his long time love for subjects on living things.
