Cristiano Ronaldo asks for privacy as he mourns his baby boy

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has lost his baby boy.

The Portugal national team skipper broke the sad news through his social media accounts.

Ronaldo and his wife Georgina Rodriguez were expecting twins.

One of the twins, a girl however survived.

“It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our baby boy,” read Ronaldo’s message in part.

The message went on; “It’s the worst pain any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”

The soccer star celebrated the health workers who tried in vain to save the life of his son, saying they did their best.

“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all the care and support they provided,” he said.

“We are devastated and ask for privacy at this difficult time. Our boy you are our angel. We will love you forever,” the statement went on.

Condolences

The sad news came a day after Ronaldo celebrated his 60th hat-trick in professional football.

He had earlier posted; “30 hat-tricks before 30 and 30 hat-tricks after 30. It’s time to unbalance the scale!”

Following the death of the son, football fans jammed Ronaldo’s social media accounts, pouring condolence messages.

“My sincere condolences to you and your family. May almighty God give you strength to bare this loss,” wrote Dxmondc.

Mony Adau wrote: May you find comfort and hope through the creator 🙏🏿. RIP little angel.”
