Comedian Awinja Nyamwalo is the talk of town following her latest single targeting slippery Valentines.
In the song titled ‘Sio Lazima’ (Not a must), Awinja has attacked those planning to use Men’s Conference to avoid treating their better halves during the February 14, Valentine’s Day.
The song was released on Youtube on February 9, and three days later, it had hit over 600, 000 views.
By this time, Awinja had appeared for studio interviews in almost all the major media houses in the country.
During her appearances, Awinja said the song was motivated by her attitude of always never forcing issues.
“I do not force things. It is always a Yes or No. It is not a must I get it,” said Awinja during her appearance at NTV’s Trends program on Friday night.
In the song, Awinja mentions some of the instances where people do not have to force things if their partners.
“Will you be my Valentine? It is a Yes or No answer. Sio lazima, it is not a must,” goes the chorus of the song.
She advises Kenyans never to get emotional with a Yes or No answer while dating.
The timing of the song shows a direct attack on Kenyan men who are fond of giving excuses when it comes to treating their dates.
During the Valentine’s Day, Kenyan men are keen on the ‘Men’s Conference’ which they ensure coincides in a bid to avoid going for dates.
Awinja argues that it is not a must to be taken out for Valentine’s Day, and that dates must now learn to be contented with affirmative or negative responses to their requests.
