Potential Kenya Prisons Service recruits had to wait for six hours after the exercise in Bungoma were delayed due to what was termed as technical hitches.

The exercise targeting Kanduyi Sub County, and which were held at Bungoma Airstrip however went on as planned, but in the afternoon.

Chief Recruiting Officer, Inspector Shadrack Kinoti attributed the delay to technical hitches.

“We did not anticipate to start this late and we are sorry if there is anyone who left earlier thinking we would not come,” he noted.

The exercise however registered low numbers, with a paltry 100 potential recruits turning up.

“In Kanduyi Constituency we are seeking to recruit four men and two ladies who will proceed to training and join our prison teams countrywide,” he informed.

Despite the long wait, youths and parents remained optimistic the exercise would be a success.

Simiyu Soita who has tried his luck in the recruitment for the past eight years was one of the people who turned up for the exercise.
