Ted Omondi from Nyamasaria in Kisumu drove home in a Canter as Biashara ni Lipa na Mpesa promotion came to an end.
Iruko Lavender from Iresi in Kakamega County also had the same fortune as she won the second Canter in the promotion.
The grand draw for the Safaricom sponsored promotion was done on Wednesday February 2, in Rabuor Market, Kisumu for the Western Region participants.
Two Isuzu Dimax cars were also awarded to Irene Shisundi and Nyanza Depot Limited.
Four Tuk Tuk winners were also found among the over 50,000 participants who sought for luck in the promotion.
The promotion that was done countrywide lasted for two months with Safaricom targeting individuals running business to register for the service which allows for their customers to pay them using the Pochi la Biashara option.
According to Safaricom’s Western Regional Marketing Manager Dennis Karia, the promotion also aimed at reducing the handling of cash to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
“The promotion aimed at allowing merchants to make collections through the phone and also help in prevention of the spread of corona virus,” said Karia.
The draw was also done for the other regions countrywide.
